Connecting Lightspeed puts what a guest actually spends onto their profile. Checks arrive with the items rung in and the modifiers attached to them, and each is matched to the reservation that held its table, so a restaurant can build campaigns on buying history rather than on covers alone.
How it works
Lightspeed records what a table spent, not who was sitting at it. Checks arrive in Loyalist with the spend, the items rung in, the modifier options on each one, and the table. A dine-in check carries no guest, as none does in any point-of-sale system, so each is paired with whichever reservation covered that table that evening. Once a check belongs to a person, what they spend and what they order become part of a history rather than a line in last night’s report.

- Campaigns and journeys can be built on what guests actually buy. A list can be built from check size, from a dish someone orders on every visit, or from how long it has been since they last came in, so a message reaches the guests it was written for.
- The entire check history is imported at the start. Earlier checks come out of the Lightspeed account rather than starting on the connection date, so a regular’s spend is there from the first look.

How does a Lightspeed check reach the right guest?
Through the reservation. Because no till records who was seated, each check is paired with the booking covering that table at that hour. Anything with no booking behind it stays unattached, so the book’s completeness matters as much as the connection.
Does Loyalist see modifiers from Lightspeed?
Yes, along with the items themselves. Two guests can order the same dish and only the modifier records that one of them always asks for it a particular way, which is the difference between knowing what sold and knowing something worth remembering about the guest.
What happens to my Lightspeed history?
All of it. Earlier checks arrive when the connection is made and merge into guest records already held rather than sitting in their own list, so a regular’s total is right straight away.
