Loyalist × Stripe

Prepayments taken through Stripe arrive in Loyalist and attach to the guest who paid, so money taken at the point of booking counts towards what that person is worth rather than sitting apart in a payments dashboard. What a booking is worth is then known before the guest arrives rather than reconciled afterwards.

How it works

A restaurant that takes money at the point of booking usually has that money in one system and the guest who paid it in another. Stripe prepayments arrive in Loyalist attached to the guest who made them, so a prepaid experience or a ticketed dinner counts as that person’s spend. A prepaid experience or a ticketed dinner therefore counts towards what that guest has spent, in the same place as everything else they have done.

Key benefits

  • A prepayment lands on the guest who made it. Money taken at booking counts towards what that person has spent, rather than being visible only as a transaction in a payments dashboard with no relationship behind it.
  • Prepaid spend is available before the guest has even arrived. For a ticketed dinner or a prepaid experience, what the booking is worth is known in advance, which makes it usable for how the night is planned rather than only for reporting afterwards.
  • Prepaid guests can be segmented on what they paid. The people who book the expensive experience every time are a group, and they are only identifiable once the payment and the person are on the same record.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Stripe connection actually bring in?

Prepayments made through Stripe, attached to the guest who paid them. It is the money-in-advance part of the relationship, so a guest’s ordinary in-room spend still comes from the point of sale.

Can I see prepaid revenue against individual guests?

Yes, which is the point of connecting it. A prepayment sitting in a payments dashboard tells a restaurant what it took. The same prepayment on a guest profile tells it who is worth calling when a similar experience goes on sale.

Does connecting Stripe change how payments are taken?

No. Payments carry on being taken exactly as they are now, and what has already been taken is read so that it reaches the right guest record.
